Goa Forward president Vijai Sardesai has slammed the State government for playing politics over COVID in the State.
Reacting to taluka meetings held by the party at various talukas, Sardesai said CM and government is playing politics.
“Ministers allotted talukas are meeting officials & ruling MLAs to discuss COVID19 outbreak sans Opposition MLAs, in the backdrop of growing number of positive cases in Goa & insufficient health infrastructure . Did these meetings discuss the mysterious Plan B that Vishwajit Rane referred to?,” he asked.
Further, he added, “reviewing preparedness or reviewing politics? It’s a shame that even when community transmission is full on in Salcete, the Goa government cannot see beyond BJP party in its fight against COVID19. They are enjoying keeping majority legislators out of loop is like revelling being frogs in a pond,” he wrote on social media.
Pointing to lockdown announced by a Australian city Melbourne, Sardesai said with 191 new positive cases today for a 5 million population, Australia’s 2nd biggest city has a 2nd 6 week lockdown.
“Compare it to Goa of 1.5 million which has 90 new positive cases in newer areas & health infrastructure saturated and mysterious Plan B which no one knows,” he said.
