PANAJI: The Goa government has moved the High Court challenging the order of the North Goa Principal District and Sessions Court granting bail to accused Zenito Cardozo in the activist Rama Kankonkar attempt-to-murder case.
In its petition, the state has sought the setting aside of the Sessions Court order that allowed Cardozo to be released on bail in connection with the alleged attack on activist Rama Kankonkar. The government has contended that the bail order requires judicial scrutiny.
The High Court, after taking cognisance of the plea, has issued notice to respondent Zenito Cardozo and posted the matter for further hearing on March 12.
