PANAJI: The Goa government has issued a directive requiring all state employees to take part in International Yoga Day activities on June 21, while ensuring regular office work is not disrupted.
In a circular from the Directorate of General Administration, the government announced that yoga sessions will be held across various government departments and public institutions as part of the nationwide observance.
“All government staff must participate in yoga sessions scheduled for June 21, 2025, either within their own office premises or at nearby locations such as schools, colleges, panchayats, or municipalities where such events are arranged,” stated Under Secretary Shreyas Dsilva.
Employees who choose to attend sessions outside their designated workplace are required to take a selfie as proof of attendance and submit it to their department heads.
Departments have also been asked to organize yoga sessions within their offices and sub-offices wherever feasible, without affecting delivery of essential services. Offices should also be open to providing space for yoga sessions if approached by external organizers.
Additionally, all offices must register their respective events on the portal [yoga.ayush.gov.in/yoga-sangam](https://yoga.ayush.gov.in/yoga-sangam) and upload participation data after the sessions are completed.
