PANAJI: The Goa government on Thursday terminated the services of four Junior Scale Officers from the Goa Civil Service following a Supreme Court order that put on hold the High Court ruling under which they had been appointed.
In a notification issued by the Department of Personnel on November 27, the government withdrew the appointments of Brucelee Jesus Nazario Savio Quadros, Praveen Prakash Shirodkar, Nilesh Bhagwant Naik (OBC) and Daulatrao Vijayrao Rane Sardesai (CFF). All four had been given notional appointments to the Junior Scale cadre with retrospective effect from May 23, 2012, a decision later upheld by the High Court on February 12, 2025.
However, after the Supreme Court stayed the implementation of that High Court verdict, the Personnel Department moved to cancel their appointments. “In view of the directions of the Supreme Court of India… the services of the following Junior Scale Officers stand terminated,” the order signed by Under Secretary (Personnel-I) Raghuram Faldesai stated.
The officers were currently serving in key administrative roles — including Deputy Collector, Joint Director in the Information & Publicity Department, Deputy Director (Tribal Welfare), and Deputy Director (Administration) in the Directorate of Social Welfare.
