CALANGUTE: As the festive season approaches, the District Magistrate of North Goa has designated temporary parking areas to accommodate the influx of tourists in the Calangute, Baga, and Candolim regions. These arrangements, effective until February 28, 2025, aim to ensure smooth and convenient parking for both heavy/medium tourist vehicles and four-wheelers.
For heavy and medium tourist vehicles such as buses, minibuses, and tempos, designated parking spots have been identified in several locations. These include a barren field near Fat Fish Restaurant in Calangute Village (Survey Numbers 388/1 & 388/2), another barren fieldh near Bodke Wadakade in Pobowado (Survey Numbers 375/5 to 375/15), and an open space adjacent to the Calangute Police Station.
Numerous parking areas have been allocated to cater to four-wheelers. These include spots near Poriat Cross (Survey Number 169/21), Poriat Ground opposite Patil Juice Centre/General Store (GTDC Parking), and the Calangute Association Football Ground. Additional parking spaces are available at the GTDC Parking Lot near the Bandodkar Statue/Calangute Bus Stand, opposite Royal Jamo’s Resort on Jacinto Road, behind Babreshwar Temple, and near the Bandodkar Statue opposite Sagar Hotel.
In Baga, parking facilities are available in the field of Sahani Property before the New Baga Bridge, an open field next to Sahani Property at Baga End, on the Katcha Road leading to the STP Plant, and on both sides of the road leading to the Sewerage Treatment Plant behind Big Tap Brew House Restaurant. Other designated areas include the parking lot next to Nazri Resort, behind Titos Statue at Fiesta Restaurant, and opposite Taleshwar Temple near Baga Bridge.
These temporary parking arrangements are part of the district administration’s efforts to enhance the festive experience for tourists and locals alike, ensuring that the celebrations remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.
