PANAJI: The Goa government has established a Finance Management Committee headed by the Chief Secretary to monitor both the financial and physical progress of seven major State development projects being executed by NBCC (India) Ltd.
These projects, with a combined investment of around ₹1,700 crore, include the redevelopment of Junta House, Circuit House (Altinho), government quarters (St Inez), government garage (Panaji), and the KTC bus stand (Vasco), along with the construction of Prashasan Stambh (administrative complex) at Chimbel.
The foundation stones for these projects were laid last month by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The newly formed committee will supervise project implementation and handle post-construction responsibilities.
Members include top officials from GAD, Urban Development, Transport, PWD, NBCC, and the Budget Division.
Under the MoU, NBCC will maintain government-owned assets and related infrastructure for 20 years (5+15) and carry out special repairs as decided by the committee.
All proceeds from saleable built-up areas will go into an Escrow Account in a nationalised bank, monitored and audited by the panel. NBCC will maintain separate accounts for each project and submit quarterly progress reports.
The MoU also authorises NBCC to sell over 1.5 lakh sqm of built-up space, including hotels, offices, and apartments, developed on a total area exceeding 77,000 sqm across the seven projects.
