PANAJI: The Government of Goa has extended the time period for submission of claims under the Goa (Abolition of Proprietorships, Titles and Grants of Lands) Act, 2014, and its subsequent amendments, by 90 days from the date of the latest public notice issued on July 10, 2025.
According to the notice issued by Nehal Gajanan Talaunekar, Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Bicholim, claims will now be accepted from July 10, 2025, to October 7, 2025. This extension comes in compliance with a directive from the Under Secretary (Home-II), Home Department, dated June 2, 2025.
The public notice clarifies that eligible persons, including claimants, proprietors, occupants, and other interested parties, must submit their claims within the extended period in the prescribed format. Submissions should include relevant documents, affidavits, and supporting evidence, as required under the Act and its rules.
Authorities have cautioned that failure to file claims within the stipulated timeframe will result in the forfeiture of the right to claim, and no further submissions will be entertained thereafter.
The extension is in line with the provisions of the original 2014 Act, and amendments made in 2015, 2022, and most recently in 2025.
