PANAJI: In a move aimed at cushioning employees against inflation, the Goa government on Tuesday announced a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for State government staff and employees of grant-in-aid educational institutions.
The latest revision, effective July 1, 2025, raises the DA from 55% to 58% of the basic pay, aligning with the Central government’s recent decision. The increase is expected to benefit over 63,000 employees across the State.
According to an official notification, the enhanced DA will be reflected in the November 2025 salary, with arrears for July to October to be disbursed along with it.
This is the second DA revision this year — in January 2025, the allowance had been raised from 53% to 55%. The latest adjustment comes as part of the government’s periodic review to help employees meet the rising cost of living.
