PANAJI: The Goa government has introduced a significant change in recruitment criteria, making one year of work experience mandatory for all Group ‘C’ positions across departments.
A fresh notification issued by the Department of Personnel (DoP) states that Recruitment Rules for Group ‘C’ posts have been amended to ensure that applicants must possess at least one year of experience in government, semi-government or private organisations to qualify for applying.
The revised eligibility condition will now apply to a wide range of posts, including MTS, LDC/Recovery Clerk, Junior Stenographer, Stenographer Grade-II, Junior Assistant, Senior Assistant, Bailiff, Court Master, Attendant, Field Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Assistant DEO, Talathi, Panchayat Secretary, Accounts Clerk, Accountant, Junior Auditor, Investigator, Library Attendant, Field Worker, Ahya, Maid Servant, Waiter, Milkman, Mess Servant, and several others.
According to the new rules, wherever earlier provisions required less than one year of experience — or none at all — they will now be replaced with a compulsory minimum of one year, defined as 11 months or 335 days of continuous or accumulated service.
The DoP has also clarified that experience gained in educational institutions, law institutes, chartered accountant offices, or banking institutions will be considered valid, provided applicants submit official proof of employment.
