CANACONA: Chief Minister says the government is positive to opt for the Central Government introduced Unified Pensioners Scheme (UPS) considered the Delhi government’s historic move for its employee’s welfare and extend the same for the retiring employees (pensioners) of the State.
During his visit to Canacona to inaugurate Ravindra Bhavan, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant responding to a request for his statement on the possibility of the Goa government opting for the UPS, initially stated he is going to make a statement on it in Panjim added,
‘My Finance department has taken up top study that scheme (Central govt introduced Unified Pensioners Scheme (UPS), and also to know how is our present scheme and what about past. After doing all this, however, we are very positive, particularly about giving benefits to our retiring Pensioners and that is our only intention,” he said.
