PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that government is ready to change school curriculum in order to prepare candidates for skilled jobs required in industries.
“Skilled manpower required by industries in not available in Goa. Government is ready to change school curriculum in order to prepare candidates for skilled jobs required in industries,” said Sawant while addressing the gathering at Converge 2024
He further said that the state government has been undertaking various programmes to boost employability of Goan youth in all sectors.
Sawant said that the state requires skill development institutions in various fields.
“The government is making all out efforts to develop the manpower of the state into skilled manpower with the help of IIT, NIT, GIM, BITS Pilani and other engineering colleges,” he added
The Chief Minister also said that Goa is the first in the country to start such skill training centres. 3000 people have already registered.
“We need to make ‘Skilled Goa’. As per the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2027’, we want to make Goa ‘Skill, Fit and Inclusive’, with a focus on the skilled youth who will take this vision forward,” he added.
