PANAJI: The Government of Goa vide recent notification has revised the CMRY scheme making it more attractive to the Goan youth to take up self-employment by starting new business enterprises by availing loans under the Chief Minister’s Rojgar Yojana (CMRY) scheme.
In the revised CMRY scheme the income ceiling has been deleted and the age limit has been extended to 50 years.
Further, new as well as existing business can avail of a loan at a low-interest rate (@ 2% p.a.) for expansion in business as well as for project cost up to Rs. 20 lakhs(25 lakhs for professionals).
Recently Economic Development Corporation, Goa had a CMRY MEET wherein over 100 Goans participated to know about the formalities of availing CMRY loan and where also given inputs on significance on Finance and Marketing in running small business enterprises.
This MEET was inaugurated by Mr. Sanjay Satardekar (Vice-Chairman, EDC) in presence of Mr. B. S. Pai Angle (Managing Director, EDC), Mr. B. S. Borkar (Jt. Managing Director, EDC) and Mr. John De Sousa (Dy. General Manager, Finance, EDC).
EDC has proposed to have such CMRY meetings on a regular basis so as to enable Goan youth to take full benefits under the CMRY scheme. The Government is making all efforts so that the CMRY-2023 scheme will reach every nook and corner of Goa and will lead to self-employment among Goan youth.
