PANAJI: The Goa government has directed the Goa Medical College (GMC) to initiate the process of implementing a 100-Point Roster for allotment and reservation of postgraduate seats for SC, ST, OBC, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates.
In a letter issued on Monday by the Public Health Department, Under Secretary (Health-I) Sitaram G. Sawal instructed the Dean of GMC, Bambolim, to furnish the procedure for implementation of the roster system.
The college has also been asked to draft necessary amendments to the Goa (Rules for admission to Postgraduate Degree and Diploma Courses of the Goa University at the Goa Medical College) Rules, 2024, in line with the directions of the Chief Minister.
The communication emphasizes the “time-bound” nature of the task and seeks strict compliance with the Chief Minister’s decision.
Copies of the directive have also been sent to the OSDs of the Chief Minister and Health Minister for further monitoring.
The move is aimed at ensuring fair representation of reserved categories in postgraduate medical admissions, bringing GMC in line with national reservation norms.
