PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that Government has no plans to permit any institutions who had applied in the year 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 to commence Higher Secondary.
“Processing applications for opening of new Higher Secondary Schools in 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 were closed in the respective academic years with either approving or rejecting the same,” he added.
He further said that applications received for opening new Higher Secondary Schools for the oncoming new Academic Year 2023-24 are currently being processed on case to case basis.
Sawant said that National Education Policy (NEP 2020) is being implemented from the academic year 2023-2024 in a phased manner in School Education.
“In Higher Education, the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020) is already being implemented in Goa in a phased manner. As part of this, the implementation of Academic Structure, including National Curriculum Framework, will start from 2023-24,” he added.
CM said that for School Education, State Level Seminar/ orientation is being conducted on the 23rd, 24th, 25th, 30th& 31st of January 2023 at 5 different places like Curchorem, Margao, Sanquelim, Panaji and Ponda where in all Govt. & Govt. Aided Heads of the Institutions and Management members of Aided Schools attended the same.
“The NEP 2020 training has been given to all Govt. & Govt. Aided Heads of the Institutions and Management representatives of Aided schools, including Heads of Cortalim constituency schools. However constituency-wise data is not maintained,’ he said.
