TALEIGAO: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that the Goa government is set to create between 10,000 and 12,000 jobs in various government departments, including the Public Works Department, over the next two years.
Speaking at a BJP workers’ meeting in Taleigao, Sawant said the recruitment will be carried out through the Goa Public Service Commission and other official channels. Approximately 4,000 of these jobs will be provided through the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to youth employment, the Chief Minister highlighted several new skill-based courses launched for young people. Special training programs have also been introduced for students who did not pass their Class X and XII board exams.
Sawant noted the success of the state’s apprenticeship program, under which over 14,000 youth have gained valuable hands-on experience in various sectors.
The meeting was attended by BJP state president Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik, Taleigao MLA Jennifer Monserrate, and former MLA Siddharth Kuncolienkar.
Monserrate praised the developmental work carried out under Sawant’s leadership and expressed her support for his continuation as Chief Minister in the next government term.
During the event, it was revealed that Rs 13 crore has been spent on road hot-mixing works in Taleigao, while the construction of a new football ground and other developmental projects in the constituency are nearing completion.
The gathering witnessed enthusiastic participation from BJP workers across the Taleigao constituency.
