PANAJI: The Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and the Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation, and in association with ALIMCO (a Government of India undertaking), will organize a series of Assessment Camps across all talukas of Goa from May 20 to June 2, 2025, between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. These camps aim to identify eligible Divyangjan (Persons with Disabilities) for the free distribution of aids and appliances under the ADIP Scheme, as part of the Swayampurna Goa 2.0 and Inclusive Goa initiatives. The venues and dates for the camps are as follows: Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandal, Rivona (Sanguem) on May 20; College of Arts/Commerce & Science, Quepem on May 21; Ravindra Bhavan, Canacona on May 22; Chetna Education Society, Curchorem on May 23; Office of the Deputy Collector, Dharbandora on May 24; Ponda Sports Complex (Behind Indoor Stadium), Ponda on May 25; College of Pharmacy, Tiswadi (Panjim) on May 26; Sanjay Centre School, Vasco on May 27; Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on May 28; Valpoi Bus Stand (Marriage Hall), Valpoi on May 30; Sohirobanath Ambiye College, Pedne (Pernem) on May 31; Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa on June 1; and Ravindra Bhavan, Sanquelim on June 2. Over 11,800 PwDs across the state will be contacted via phone calls to inform them of their scheduled date, time, and venue. Eligible beneficiaries must possess a minimum 40% disability as certified in a UDID certificate, have a monthly income below Rs. 22,500 (with valid income proof), provide Aadhaar and address proof, and should not have received similar aid in the past three years (or one year for children under 18 for specific appliances). The assessment camps will cover persons with locomotor disabilities, visual impairment, hearing impairment, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. All eligible individuals are encouraged to attend the camps in their respective talukas with the necessary documents to avail the benefits of this inclusive initiative.
