AAP MLA Venzy Viegas said no new licences are issued for a new Rent a bike business

PORVORIM: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho today said that the state government is considering to revive the Rent-A-Bike scheme for a short period of time.
Godinho was replying to the question tabled by AAP MLA Capt Venzy Viegas.
“State government is considering to revive the Rent-A-Bike scheme for a short period of time. The scheme was stopped due to the number of rent-a-bikes,” said Godinho.
He further said that the government is considering to open the scheme again for a short period of time.
The minister also said that Electric Bikes and E rickshaws will also be permitted under this scheme.
AAP MLA Venzy Viegas had raised the issue faced by new entrepreneurs as no new licence are issued for a new Rent a bike business.
He also pointed out that if licences are issued, irregularities in giving private bikes on rent will be stopped and there will be revenue generation.
