PANAJI: Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai has alleged that the Goa Government is all set to extend the revenue holiday granted to GMR up to December 2024.
He said the move if passed through would be anti-Goanand would be challenged.
“EXTENSION OF GMR’s REVENUE HOLIDAY PERIOD IS ANTI-GOAN; WILL BE CHALLENGED. After assuring the House that GMR MOPA revenue sharing will start from May 2024, moves are afoot at the cabinet level to extend the Revenue Holiday period till December 2024,” Sardesai posted on
X.
He added, “I have also learnt that a cabinet note is being prepared, that too, not by the Department of Civil Aviation but by a third party”.
When the Concession Agreement doesn’t permit such an extension, going ahead with it not only will bring massive losses to the exchequer but also be a breach of the privilege of the House, he said.
“Be warned, Civil Aviation officers from @GovtofGoa will be taken to task, and we will escalate this matter to @PMOIndia, CAG and the Ministry of Civil Aviation @Ministry_CA,” he stated.
