PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that a “No Man’s Land” Act will be introduced in the State in view of land grab cases.
CM Sawant was addressing the media after chairing the cabinet meeting.
“One man commission has made suggestions; amendments will be brought up in the upcoming assembly session” said CM Sawant
He further said that the remaining cases are to be filed in a single court. Additionally, a “no man’s land” act will be introduced,” said CM Sawant.
Sawant informed that the cabinet has accepted the commission’s report on land-grabbing cases which were probed by the special investigation team of the crime branch.
He said the government will act upon all the suggestions made in the report.
The inquiry commission has given a list of no-man’s lands and government lands that were fraudulently grabbed. If any person makes a claim on a no-man land with documents the government can give it back to that person.
“The government lands that had been sold out by creating fake documents will also be taken back,” he added.
The Chief Minister noted that the unclaimed lands would be taken over by the government.
Speaking further CM Sawant also said that MBBS student stipend has been raised from Rs 20,000 to 30,000.
“NH traffic issues resolved; basic work underway, expected completion within 2 years. Jet patcher to be used for monsoon road-work” said CM.
