Panaji: The Government of Goa has not yet finalized the location of the headquarters for the proposed third district in the state, the Directorate of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation (DPSE) clarified in an official press release issued on Sunday.
Refuting media reports suggesting that Curchorem in Quepem Taluka had been chosen as the district headquarters, the DPSE stated that no official decision has been taken so far regarding the matter.
The clarification comes in response to speculation in various sections of the electronic and print media about the administrative center of the proposed new district.
The press release, signed by DPSE Director Vijay B. Saxena, emphasized that the final decision regarding the headquarters remains pending with the government.
