FATORDA: In a blistering critique of the BJP-led government in Goa, Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardesai has accused the administration of institutionalizing corruption to such an extent that even its own ministers are now speaking out in frustration.
Referring to a recent statement by Cabinet Minister Govind Gaude—who claimed that contractors are forced to pay bribes to get files cleared—Sardesai said the comment was less of a revelation and more a symptom of growing internal discontent.
“Cabinet Minister Govind Gaude’s statement is not just an accusation, it’s an admission of the rot festering within the government,” Sardesai said.
Asserting that Gaude, as an insider, would be well aware of the extent of corruption within the government, Sardesai alleged that the BJP regime in Goa has nurtured and normalized corrupt practices across all departments.
“It’s something every Goemkar knows,” he said, adding that he himself has exposed multiple scams over the years that have eroded public trust and damaged the state irreparably.
Since Gaude’s allegation refers specifically to a department under the Chief Minister’s Office, Sardesai said the people of Goa are waiting to see if CM Dr. Pramod Sawant will take any meaningful action.
“Or will the cabinet collectively choose to retain its proud title of ‘The most corrupt government Goa has ever seen’?” he asked.
The GFP President’s statement adds to the growing political heat around Gaude’s explosive comments, which have triggered calls from opposition leaders for a high-level probe and accountability from within the BJP leadership.
