PANAJI: In the High Court of Bombay at Goa, the Bharatiya Kamgar Sena has contested the Home Department’s notification citing the Goa Essential Services Maintenance Act on the pharmaceutical product manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and transportation sectors.
According to the petitioner, the State government ignored the union’s written objections to the notices that were sent out at various periods.
According to the statement, the October 10, 2023, notification—which was later extended by notifications on March 15, 2025, and September 27, 2024—is unconstitutional, supra vires, unfair, and unlawful. As a result, the union has asked the court to invalidate and set aside the ESMA.
The administration has received notification from the High Court that a hearing is scheduled for February 3.
