PANAJI: The Governor of Goa, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, has extended his heartiest greetings and warm wishes to the people of Goa on the occasion of New Year 2023.
In his message, the Governor said that New Year is a joyous event when we refresh our thoughts and prepare for new achievements. The advent of the New Year brings new hopes, aspirations and expectations and rejuvenates our lives. The year just gone by has many notable achievements, such as the Inauguration of the first phase of Mopa International Airport, named “Manohar International Airport”, the Organization of 9thWorld Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo 2022 to provide a global platform for all the stakeholders, including industry leaders, practitioners, traditional healers, educationists, students, medicine manufacturers, growers of medicinal plants and marketing strategists, for networking and engaging in intellectual exchange to strengthen the Ayurveda sector, 5th position for Goa under UT and City State Category as per India Innovation Index 2021 published by NITI Aayog, Appreciation by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi of Swayampurna Goa 2.0 “Mission with Vision”. It is also indeed a pleasure that Goa continues to have the highest estimated per capita income in the country, portraying a robust and healthy economy.
The Governor further said during the year 2022, the “Goa Gram Sampurna Yatra”, which began on September 17, 2021, was completed. “Goushala”, an initiative by Raj Bhavan, was also started to shelter and maintain indigenous cows “Shwetakapila” breed of Goa. The “Vamanvruksha Udhyan”, known as “Bonsai” in modern terminology, was also inaugurated by Raj Bhavan.
New Year’s Eve brings happiness to people and spreads joy everywhere; I wish each one a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. May the dawn of the New Year rekindle our spirit of unity and compassion and promote peace and harmony, the Governor concludes.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has extended his best wishes and greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of New Year 2023.
In his message to the people on New Year, Chief Minister said, “It is time to reflect on what we have done during the past year. Let us embrace the lessons learnt in the past year and keep our spirits up and determination unshaken, strengthen our resilience and look forward to a gracious year ahead.
The Chief Minister further said that “Year after year, the State government has been implementing developmental programmes in an innovative way for the welfare of the people. Let us march forward towards development in the upcoming year”.
Chief Minister has urged the people to strive towards a new and better goal. Let us take a pause, reflect, and get ready to welcome the New Year 2023. “May the New Year bring joy, prosperity, and happiness to all,” he concluded.
