Goa Forward chief and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Sunday said that Goa was heading towards COVID disaster due to pure mismanagement by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
In a pre-recorded video, Sardsai said that the five deaths in 48 hours is a worrying factor and the government needs to introspect.
“Goa’s death rate is 1578/ million which is more than double of All India figure of 602/ million, and hence this is a cause of concern.,” he said adding “Goa is heading towards COVID disaster purely due to mismanagement and misplaced priorities and disastrous leaderships.
The former deputy CM also charged patients being discharged without testing negative by selectively interpreting SC Guidelines.
He said that many infected patients have died or cured on their own as State does not have real time data, mainly due to low testing.
“Government has to present a white paper on recoveries. What government is doing is just fudging of figures,” he said.
He said the government has failed in COVID the war.
“…there is clear vote of no confidence against the government as villages are announcing their own lockdowns. Government has to do introspection and course correction,” he said.
He further asked “Moot question is who made Goa unsafe? The Goa CM must answer.”
