Panaji: The Goa Health department collaborated with Astra Zeneca India, a global, science-led, patient-focused pharmaceutical company with its headquarters at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus in Cambridge, England India to conduct the data analysis to create an Equitable Healthcare Access model.
Health minister Vishwajit Rane said that the model aims to showcase the ‘STAGE SHIFT’ achieved through proactive screening interventions in the State. This initiative focuses on early diagnosis, contrasting with the previous scenario where individuals were diagnosed in late stages with poor outcomes.
“Through this project we aim to demonstrate improved overall survival rates for those diagnosed early, reflecting the positive impact of the screening interventions on cancer outcomes in the State.”
“We express sincere thanks to Dr. Sanjeev Panchal, Managing Director, and Dr. Ajay Sharma, CA Director of AstraZeneca India, for their unwavering support. Goa remains unwavering in its commitment to achieve genuine equitable healthcare equity for all. It is determined to stand as a symbol of success, establishing the #TheGoaModel as an exemplary standard for the entire country.”
