PARRA: The Crime Branch of Goa Police has registered a case against a local house owner under the Foreigners Act for failing to report the stay of a Nigerian national at a property in Parra, Bardez.
The case has been registered under Cr. No. 82/2025 U/s 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946, based on a state complaint lodged by PI Hiru Kavlekar of the Crime Branch, Ribandar.
As per the complaint, the incident dates back to May 9, 2025, when it was found that the owner of House No. 313, located at Boquenchi Arradi in Parra, Bardez, Goa, had accommodated a foreign national without informing the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) as mandated.
The Nigerian national, identified as Nnanyelugo Abasili, son of Emelka Ifechi Abasili, aged 23 years, was reportedly staying at the said address.
The house owner failed to submit the mandatory C-form to the FRRO, which is a legal requirement under Indian law when hosting foreign nationals.
The failure to comply with this legal obligation led to the registration of an offence. The case is being investigated by PSI Bablo Parab of the Crime Branch, and further inquiries are underway to determine any additional violations or connections.
Authorities have reiterated the importance of strict compliance with foreigner registration norms, especially by property owners and hospitality establishments, to ensure national security and legal accountability.
