DABOLIM: Goa International Airport at Dabolim marked Yatri Sewa Diwas 2025 with a series of cultural, health and community-oriented activities for passengers and staff, turning the terminal into a hub of festive and social engagement on Wednesday.
Arriving passengers were welcomed with a traditional tilak ceremony and a brief introduction to the significance of Yatri Sewa Diwas. Visitors also enjoyed a Goan folk dance performance at the arrival hall, organised in coordination with Goa Tourism. Many travellers took the opportunity to click photographs at a specially arranged booth featuring a life-size image of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As part of the celebrations, a health check-up camp was held at the departure hall in association with Manipal Hospitals, where passengers availed consultations and advice from medical experts. A tree plantation drive, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, was also organised with the participation of Maharashtra Ports Development Minister Nitesh Rane , alongside passengers, who planted saplings as a lasting memory of the occasion.
The security hold area saw a burst of colour and cheer during a painting competition for child passengers, whose artworks were later displayed at the terminal. Paintings by students of Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 were also exhibited for travellers to admire. A career guidance session conducted at the school enlightened students about opportunities in the aviation sector.
Social welfare initiatives formed another important part of the programme. An eye check-up camp was organised in coordination with Victor Hospital to assess the vision of drivers and airport staff, while a blood donation camp conducted with the Government District Hospital received an encouraging response from employees.
To create wider awareness, highlights of the day’s programmes were displayed on digital boards across the airport. Feedback pamphlets were also distributed among passengers to gather insights and improve future services.
The entire celebration was documented through photographs and video recordings to preserve the memories of Yatri Sewa Diwas 2025, which blended culture, social responsibility, and passenger engagement into one vibrant event at Goa International Airport.
