PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that Goa Investment Promotion Board (IPB) had cleared approvals for ten expansion units with an investment of Rs 518 crore.
With this approval and setting up of industry will employ around 3000 people in various sectors.
CM Pramod Sawant today chaired the IPB board meeting along with Minister Mauvin Godinho and IDC Chairman Aleixo Reginaldo.
“Today in the IPB meeting, we have already expansion of industry proposal worth Rs 518 crore investment which will employ more than 3000 employment,” said Sawant
When questioned on the previous proposals and the status of how many jobs were created, CM Sawant said that the data needs to be compiled and will be declared in the next IPB meeting.
Following the meeting, the Industries Minister, Mauvin Godinho, stated that the government promotes exclusively clean and non-polluting industries.
He added that some companies with foreign collaboration are eager to set up their industries in Goa.
“In Goa, we do not encourage or allow polluting industries. Only green industries are welcome. Among existing industries, we compel them to follow the pollution norms of the highest standards,” he said
Goa Industrial Growth and Investment Promotion Policy 2022 will be amended to ensure that new industries employ locals across all sectors after giving them proper training.
