PANAJI: The 40th meeting of the Goa Investment Promotion & Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) was chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant in the presence of Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho, GIDC Chairman Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, the Chief Secretary, senior government officials and industry representative.
During the meeting, the Board approved 10 new investment projects involving a total investment of ₹217.25 crore, which are expected to generate 941 employment opportunities across diverse sectors including aviation and adventure tourism, food processing, automobile and mobility, packaging, tourism and hospitality, logistics, electronics and toy manufacturing.
The Board also reviewed major investment proposals seeking incentives under the Goa Industrial Growth & Investment Promotion Policy, 2022.
These include a ₹722 crore DI pipe manufacturing project by Vedanta Ltd. with employment potential for 585 persons, a ₹1,500 crore expansion project by 3B Advanced Composites Pvt. Ltd. in glass fibre manufacturing expected to generate 1,000 jobs, and a ₹363 crore medium voltage switchgear manufacturing unit by Siemens Ltd. at Verna, creating 182 jobs.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “Our government remains firmly committed to transparent and time-bound clearances, ensuring ease of doing business, promoting sustainable industrial growth and generating meaningful employment opportunities for Goans. Through the Goa-IPB, we are facilitating investments that align with Goa’s development vision while safeguarding environmental and social interests.”
The approvals reaffirm the State Government’s focus on attracting quality investments, strengthening industrial infrastructure and boosting job creation in Goa.
