Says govt contemplating to providing permission to music festival subject to COVID19

PANAJI: Tourism Minister Babu Azgaonkar today said that Goa has started welcoming fully vaccinated tourists and that the government is trying to give name and fame to the State.
“Tourism is slowly coming up in the state, we have welcomed fully vaccinated tourists, and the touristic activities have begun across Goa,” said Azgaonkar.
He further said that Goa needs rich tourists who spend well, which later grows the economy.
“We have planned certain activities, and also advertisements will be released soon about tourism activities which will portray that Goa is open for tourists,” he said.
He also said that the state government is contemplating giving permission to music festivals subject to the COVID-19 situation in Goa.
“We don’t want tourists who want to consume drugs, and thus intern gives a bad reputation to Goa,” he added.
The Tourism Minister said that Goa State depends on the Tourism Industry, and the government is trying to give name and fame to Goa.
“We are trying to take the tourism industry in a new direction. We get a good response from the national and international level tourists only because of our marketing and promotional events,” he added.
Azgaonkar also said that Goan beaches are world-famous, we must keep them clean the beaches, in this direction he said we have taken care in all respect in the tourism sector.
“It is our bounden duty to see that the tourists visiting the State are safe. We want tourist that preserves the culture of Goa and appealed to the tourists to enjoy the culture of Goa,” the minister said.
