PANAJI: In light of the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that his department has resumed in-patient testing at state-run hospitals using antigen testing kits, a minister said.
” I have directed the team at Goa Medical College (GMC) to activate the Genome Sequencing machine on the premises, & Secretary for Health has been notified on the same,” said Rane
He further said that they have also begun in-patient testing at government hospitals using antigen testing to keep situation under control.
“If necessary, RTPCR testing is performed, and genome sequencing is performed in accordance with protocols and SOPs,” he added
Furthermore, Rane also highlighted that an emergency vaccination requirement is also provided, in case anyone requires it as a booster or for travel purposes.
“We shall be joining the mock drill that will be initiated by the Govt. Of India on the 10th and 11th of April to review preparedness,” he added
“I am grateful to the Mansukh Mandviya and MoHFW INDIA for their continued support and guidance,” he added
The minister said that Goa is ready to fight the Covid battle yet again. We have taken strict measures in light of previous experiences, ensuring that every issue is addressed.
