PANAJI: The Goa Judo Association is set to conduct the State Judo Championships 2025–26 on March 2 and 3, 2026, bringing together judokas from across the state for a high intensity competitive showcase.
The championships will be hosted at the Badminton Hall of the Peddem Sports Complex and will feature competitions across multiple categories, including Sub Junior Boys and Girls, Cadets, Juniors, and Senior Men and Women. The two-day event is expected to draw strong participation, reflecting the growing popularity and competitive depth of judo in Goa.
Officials said the championships will play a crucial role in identifying promising athletes for selection to forthcoming national level tournaments. The event is also seen as an important opportunity for young judokas to gain match experience, test their skills under pressure, and compete against the best talent from different districts.
Organisers are making detailed arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of bouts, with standard competition protocols and safety measures in place. Coaches, referees, and technical officials will oversee the matches to maintain fairness and high officiating standards throughout the tournament.
The State Judo Championships have traditionally served as a key platform for nurturing talent and strengthening the sport’s grassroots structure in Goa. With participation spanning age groups and experience levels, the upcoming edition is expected to further reinforce the state’s commitment to developing judo and preparing athletes for success on the national stage.
