PANAJI: Goa took a significant step towards cleanliness and accountability today with the launch of the Solid Waste Management & Monitoring System during the inauguration of Swachhta Diwas. The system includes a dedicated Citizen App to engage residents in real-time monitoring and reporting of waste management activities.
The integrated platform combines RFID-based waste collection, real-time tracking of municipal vehicles, roadside waste reporting, and grievance redressal, ensuring efficient coverage across all households. Features such as instant collection updates, mixed waste alerts, photo-based reporting, and geofencing of municipal vehicles are designed to improve transparency and responsiveness.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Vishwajit Rane said, “With technology at the forefront, this system empowers both citizens and municipalities. It ensures that no household is left behind, every corner of Goa remains clean, and citizens can actively participate in building a safer and healthier state.”
The initiative is part of the government’s broader push to make Goa a model state for cleanliness, efficiency, and citizen-driven governance, integrating modern technology with public service for maximum impact.
