“Goa Meat Complex is committed to ensuring that only hygienic beef is supplied to consumers,” said Sawant
He further said that anyone tries to interfere in its functioning, we will take stern action.
Beef dealers launched a statewide boycott on Monday to protest harassment after a fight broke out in Margao between beef vendors and cow protection group members.
The strike, which begin on Monday, is anticipated to have an impact on a wide range of beef consumers, including households, restaurants, and caterers, especially in light of the approaching Christmas holidays.
The chief minister and the governor will shortly receive a formal memorandum from the meat traders.
Tensions have increased as a result of the alleged altercation, which has infuriated the traders, who have accused some groups of pestering them needlessly.
In order to address their complaints, a team from the All Goa Beef Traders Association, headed by its president Manna Bepari, met with Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Sunday.
While expressing his support, Kamat made no specific promises. All he promised to do was set up meetings with the Chief Minister to discuss the matter.
According to Bepari, the MLA had committed to setting up a meeting with the Chief Minister to talk more about the matter.
The hundreds of beef traders in Goa are expected to abide by the decision taken by the group as a whole.
