The Supreme Court of India on Thursday considering the importance of the Goa mining case has decided to hear on August 18 in open court.
Advocate General Devidas Pangam informed goemkarponn.com that in the virtual hearing the State urged the court to allow early resumption of mines.
“We have pleaded to allow mining as the tourism sector is also declined considerably during COVID19 pandemic,” AG said.
He said the Apex court said that it would hear the case open court tentatively on August 18.
“The court said it cannot hold virtual hearing in such important case and hence decided to take it up when the courts open,” he stated.
