Seriously, does Congress not have any other candidate? Can’t they look beyond the leaders who have been in the top position for decades and are still power-hungry?
We simply fail to understand why the names of Francisco Sardinha and Ramakant Khalap still continue to be on the list.
Of course, you can say the same about BJP’s North Goa but the Congress has failed to understand what people want.
Does Congress not have young leaders? Is there a dearth of talent?
Names of Girish Chodankar, Capt Viriato Fernandes, and Vijay Bhike are all making rounds but sensing Congress’ thinking they may not get the nod.

The Lok Sabha elections are just around the corner and the final announcement could be made anytime.
So then, the political parties have already begun hunting for a Member of Parliament for the next five years.
The ruling BJP has already named its North Goa candidate in Shripad Naik and the announcement of the South Goa candidate could happen anytime in the next couple of days.
While teh BJP is clear on who and what they want from their leaders, the Opposition still seems to be confused about who, what when & how.
The best thing for the Congress to have happened is that the Opposition, minus the RGP, has decided to fight this election “unitedly” but there is a condition from Goa Forward “No Sardinha Please”.

A person of the calibre of Elvis Gomes, who is a former top-level bureaucrat in the Goa Government failed to make the list of even probable candidates. Shocking isn’t it? What is the Congress’ thinking? We fail to understand.
It’s high time the Congress takes a decision or one by one the alliance partners would desert the party, which could be catastrophic for the party, which aims to regain power after 10 years of exile.
India needs young leaders…
Goa and India need honest and dedicated people service-minded politicians who must be at least graduates.
Higher studies than graduation are not required. They have so many competent civil servants at their service who can flesh out political outreach.
Honestly, Goa is full of talented people but they are being sidelined for leaders who want to be in positions of power, influence and authority, who are dedicated only to self-cause or family growth or expansion of party ideology even at the cost of public welfare.
Goa is a State which has an abundance of youth resources. The majority of the population is below 35 years and our development to a larger extent, depends on these human resources working efficiently.
But when it comes to politics in the State, youngsters are considered to be incapable by the senior leaders and the elderly citizens.
The current politicians who have been elected are majorly above 45 or 50 years. Being a citizen, one should understand to what extent youths are happy and satisfied with the present development, quality of infrastructure and the administration system.
A developing country like India or for any country, needs to have a majority of leaders corresponding to the majorly concentrated population age group.
So, a country like India needs to have leaders who are young, energetic, enthusiastic, morally sound and diligent. Having such leaders can have an impact on the development to proceed much faster and better way.
