PANAJI: The Goa Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 has been honoured with the Special Appreciation Award for excellence in display under the States and Union Territories Pavilion category. The award, presented by ITPO Managing Director Dr Neeraj Kharwal, IAS, recognised Goa’s outstanding creative presentation at this year’s fair held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Information Officer (DIP) Kiran Munankar and Photographer Chandu Korgaonkar received the award on behalf of the department, along with representatives from Goa-IPB, Goa Waste Management Corporation and GSIDC. Inaugurated by Director of Information and Publicity Dipak Bandekar, the pavilion stood out for its innovative design, immersive exhibits and portrayal of Goa’s cultural richness, traditional arts and heritage. Spread across 200 sq. m in Hall No. 3, the pavilion showcased Goan cuisine, handicrafts, audiovisual displays and a rustic-themed décor reflecting traditional Goan interiors. Designed and managed by Vinayak Decorators, the pavilion also featured participation from various state departments, including Tourism, GTDC, Handicrafts, Textile and Coir, the Goa Investment Promotion Board, the Goa State Biodiversity Board, and Waste Management entities. Daily folk performances by Goan artists added vibrancy to the pavilion, while artisans sold traditional and GI-tagged products directly to visitors. The recognition underscores Goa’s creative excellence and the success of its efforts in promoting Goan culture, development and craftsmanship on a national platform.
