Panaji: The Goa Police has issued an advisory urging citizens, establishments, and job seekers to verify the credentials of private security agencies before availing their services.
According to the Public Relations Office, only agencies registered with the Goa Home Department under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 (PSARA) are legally authorised to operate in the state.
A list of registered agencies has been made available by the department. Engaging the services of any unregistered agency will invite strict legal action not only against the proprietors but also against those hiring them, the advisory warned.
The police stressed that operating without a valid PSARA licence constitutes an offence and appealed to the public to exercise caution to ensure safety and compliance with the law.
