PANAJI: The Goa police on Friday destroyed narcotics weighing 49 kgs valued approximately at Rs .2.17 crores. the narcotic drugs seized by various departments of the goa police that includes konkan railway, police stations of both the districts and the anti narcotic cell of a total of 30 cases who’s trial and appealed period was completed.
The narcotics that were destroyed included drugs like ganja, charas, cocaine, mdma and lsd that altogether weighed 49.17 kgs and valued to be approximately Rs 2.17 crores in the international market.
The NDPS drugs disposal committee during the week conducted a thorough inspection of the drugs and its documentations at police headquarters, panaji.
The drugs were destroyed at the incinerator of biotic waste solution at idc kundaim. the destruction was carried out in the presence of worthy DGP Goa Alok Kumar, IPS and the ndps disposal committee head by DIGP crime varsha sharma, ips, sp anc shri tikam singh verma, ips, smt. shweta dessai (director fda), sp headquarters shri nelson albuquerque. the proceedings were assisted by dysp anc shri nerlon albuquerque along with pi anc sajith pillai and the staff of anc ps.
the proceedings were a part of a special fortnight drive on disposal of seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances under the monitoring of union home minister shri amit shah. the drug disposal proceeding were carried out under the vision and leadership of hon’ble chief minister dr. pramod sawant.
