MAPUSA: Mapusa police has arrested four minors and a scrap yard owner in connection with a theft case.
SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi informed that on October 26 a complaint was lodged to the effect that on between 00:30 hrs to 08:30 hrs at an open parking place near Ajoba Furniture, Dongarmarg, Siolim Bardez Goa Unknown accused persons committed theft of white colour TATA Super Ace rickshow bearing registration no. GA-03-AH-1923, having chassis no. MAT483139CYF14622, Engine no. 475IDI18FXYSC1040 belonging to the complainant.
Also committed theft of batteries of vehicles registration nos. 1) GA-03-N-6741, 2) GA-03-AH-4680, 3) GA-03-N-0263, 4) GA-03-W-0643, 5) GA-03-N-3343, 6) GA-03-K-9183 and 7) GA-03-K-5248 w.
In this connection Anjuna PS registered offence U/s 379 IPC and investigation was taken up .
During the course of investigation four juveniles were apprehended and stolen white colour TATA Super Ace Rickshaw bearing registration no. GA-03-AH-1923 and 10 stolen Batteries of the vehicles all W/Rs. 4,00,000/- have been recovered at instance of 4 Juveniles and attached under the Panchanama.
During interrogation they admitted having commited the similar crimes in Mapusa Police station jurisdiction.
owner of scrap yard Afzal Ahmad Shah S/o Akhtar, age 36 yrs r/o C/o Mahesh, Ganesh Nagar, Colvale, Bardez Goa n/o Harabhta, Goura, Chauraha, Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh who had received stolen batteries has been arrested in the above crime.
SDPO Mapuca informed that team headed by pi Prashal Dessai consisting Of PSI Sahil V. Warang, Head Constable Jairam Mhamal, Police Constables Rupesh Azgaonkar, Abhishek Kasar, Adarsh Nagekar, Mahendra Mandrekar, Krishna Bugde of Anjuna Police Station was formed who developed the information, leading to the arrest of thieves.
Juveniles were produced before Juveniles Justice Board and admitted in Apna Ghar Merces .
Further investigation is in progress under of supervision Prashal P.N. Dessai, PI Anjuna PS, Shri. Jivba Dalvi SDPO Mapusa and Shri. NidhinValsan, SP (North), Porvorim.
