Panaji: In a significant move to bolster the state’s security apparatus, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant recently flagged off a fleet of two-wheeler scooters for the Goa Traffic Police. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and mobility of the police force in the picturesque coastal state. The event also saw the induction of explosive-sniffer canines from Belgium’s Malinois breed and the deployment of vehicles for both the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and the Dog Squad. The ceremony was attended by Director General of Police Shri Alok Kumar and other senior police officials in Goa. By introducing these modern resources, the Chief Minister underscored the government’s commitment to empowering law enforcement agencies with cutting-edge facilities.
The addition of Activa scooters for traffic police reflects a strategic effort to optimize patrol operations across the state. These scooters are designed to navigate densely populated urban areas effectively, thus improving response times to emergencies and enhancing overall public safety. Furthermore, the induction of highly trained Belgian Malinois canines will significantly enhance the police’s capacity to handle potential threats, providing an advanced layer of security. The vehicles allocated to the BDDS and Dog Squad will also play a crucial role in augmenting the response capabilities during critical situations.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed optimism about these new additions, stating that they will significantly boost the police’s ability to perform their duties more efficiently. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to modernize its security infrastructure, ensuring that the state remains a safe and secure haven for residents and visitors alike.
