PANAJI: The Goa Police Hackathon 2025 concluded with an award ceremony at the Police Headquarters Conference Hall, celebrating young innovators who developed technology-driven solutions to strengthen policing and public safety.
The 48-hour hackathon, organised by Goa Police in collaboration with BITS Pilani Goa, saw 36 student teams from seven colleges compete to create digital tools addressing real policing challenges.
DGP Alok Kumar, IPS, IGP Keshav Ram Chaurasia, and BITS Pilani Goa Director Prof. Suman Kundu were among the dignitaries present at the event.
Three top teams showcased their live prototypes — Zero Code for “Night Vigil: Smart Patrolling Verification App,” Nagar Rakshak 2 for “AI-Based Assistant for Visitors at Police Stations,” and Eternal Blue for “Analytics Tool for 112 Police Helpline Data.” A special presentation from BITS Pilani Goa introduced an Investigation Timeline Monitoring Dashboard to support timely compliance under the new criminal laws (BNSS).
Applauding the participants, DGP Alok Kumar said the students had brought “new energy and creative thinking to real policing challenges” and assured that promising solutions from the hackathon would be considered for field implementation.
Prof. Suman Kundu commended the initiative, stating that such collaborations “not only nurture young talent but also foster innovations with social impact.”
Certificates, trophies, and appreciation letters were presented to winners and participants, while judges and coordinators from Goa Police and BITS Pilani received mementos. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by ASP Cyber Crime.
The Hackathon addressed nine problem statements, including smart patrolling, AI-based deepfake and voice detection, cyber patrolling, digital forensic analysis, and AI-powered investigation tools — reaffirming Goa Police’s commitment to integrating technology in law enforcement.
