PANAJI: The Goa Police organized a mental health workshop, “Manas Mentors,” at its headquarters in collaboration with Vianaar Group, IMA Goa State, and Sangath NGO.
This program is part of the “Manas Mentors” initiative and the “Swasth Police – Sashakth Police” campaign, both inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa in December 2024 to enhance the mental and physical well-being of police personnel.
The event saw virtual participation from 370 personnel across 67 police stations and 35 in-person attendance by senior officers, including DGP Alok Kumar (IPS), DIG HQ Ajay Krishan Sharma (IPS), and DIG Range Varsha Sharma (IPS) and other Senior SPs, SPs, and DySP-level officers.
DGP Alok Kumar (IPS), in his remarks, expressed gratitude to Vianaar, IMA Goa State, and Sangath for their support in organizing the workshop.
He emphasized the importance of mental well-being for the police force and acknowledged the challenges they face.
Dr. Shekhar Salkar, President of IMA Bicholim, said, “I’m happy to be part of this initiative that focuses on the mental health of our police force, providing them with the tools to manage stress and perform their duties effectively.”
Dr. Dattaram Desai, President of IMA Goa State, expressed, “I’m happy to join this session and am committed to seeing this program through to its successful conclusion.”
The session, led by Tanushri from Sangath, focused on stress management and resilience.
Jones Samuel, PRO of Vianaar, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting such initiatives. He announced that the “Swasth Police – Sashakth Police” program, which will focus on the physical well-being of Goa Police personnel in North Goa Police Stations, will be rolled out in February 2025.
This initiative will be implemented in partnership with IMA Bicholim and the Telemedicine Society of India, Goa Chapter, and is financially supported by Vianaar Group.
