PANAJI: As part of an ongoing enforcement drive initiated on April 26, 2025, Goa Police conducted another round of extensive combing operations and field verifications across both North and South Goa on May 1, 2025. The operation is aimed at curbing illegal activities, bolstering public safety, and monitoring transient populations, including tenants, servants, and individuals from outside the state, in sensitive areas.
In North Goa, police teams verified a total of 744 tenants and 351 servants, while also screening 40 strangers. The operation resulted in 141 individuals being rounded up, with 9 arrests made. Additionally, 82 hotels and guest houses were inspected, 14 ‘C’ forms were filled out, and 32 foreigners and 32 Kashmiri nationals were verified.
Meanwhile, in South Goa, authorities verified 261 tenants, 3 servants, and 20 strangers. A total of 45 individuals were rounded up, and 13 hotels and guest houses were checked. Police also verified 5 foreigners and 5 Kashmiri nationals in the area.
Goa Police emphasized that these operations are part of the broader commitment to enhancing public security and maintaining law and order throughout the state. The extensive drive, which began on April 26, will continue in the coming days to prevent potential disruptions and ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
