PANAJI: A heartfelt letter of gratitude has surfaced, praising Goa Police for their crucial assistance during a tragic medical emergency at a hotel in Calangute last year. The letter, addressed to the Director General of Police (DGP) Goa, details how Inspector Paresh Naik and ambulance personnel Hemant Malik stepped in to help an elderly couple after the hotel allegedly refused assistance.
The incident occurred in February 2024, when a senior citizen suffered a stroke at Neelam The Grand in Goa. The victim’s wife reportedly pleaded for help, but the hotel staff allegedly ignored her requests. With no support, she managed to call the police helpline, following which Inspector Paresh Naik and the ambulance team ensured she reached the hospital. Unfortunately, the delayed medical aid resulted in the elderly man’s demise.
Despite the tragedy, the letter expresses immense gratitude towards Goa Police, stating that they not only helped transport the deceased and his grieving wife to the airport but also provided emotional support during the ordeal.
This revelation raises serious concerns about the alleged negligence of the hotel and highlights the vital role of Goa Police in ensuring public safety.
