PANAJI: In a major step toward digital transformation in policing, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated two flagship initiatives of the Goa Police — the Goa Police Mobile App and the Cloud-based 1930 Cyber Helpline Center — in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. The initiatives are in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a Digital India and promoting SMART Policing — Strict and Sensitive, Modern and Mobile, Alert and Accountable, Reliable and Responsive, Tech-savvy and Trained.
The newly launched Goa Police Mobile App is a comprehensive digital platform that integrates multiple citizen and police services under one window, making policing more transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly. It offers a wide range of features such as online tenant verification using Aadhaar, PAN, and driving license authentication, regular police updates, traffic and cyber safety alerts, and a ‘Go Live’ feature enabling real-time audio-visual communication between senior officers and citizens or police units in the field. The app also includes internal communication tools for faster coordination within the department, with upcoming features like women’s SOS assistance and online employee and labour verification.
The app, available on both Android and iOS platforms, allows citizens to complete tenant verification online under the Goa Tenant Verification Act through a hassle-free digital process, with a nominal charge of ₹84 as notified by the Home Department on July 1, 2025. This initiative aims to strengthen citizen-police engagement while enhancing transparency and convenience.
In another pioneering initiative, the 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline has been upgraded into a Cloud-based Call Center, making Goa one of the first states in the country to implement such an advanced system. The upgraded helpline ensures high uptime, reliability, and scalability for uninterrupted citizen support and introduces features such as call recording, call conferencing for high-value cyber fraud cases, and AI-based complaint analysis for faster response and pattern detection. It also enables intelligent call handling and accountability mapping to ensure efficient tracking of complaints.
Developed under the AI-ML Lab of Goa Police, the cloud-based platform replaces the earlier static phone-line system, significantly improving the state’s cybercrime response capabilities. Both the mobile app and the cyber helpline represent a major stride toward technology-driven, responsive, and citizen-centric policing, reaffirming the Goa Police’s commitment to the national vision of a secure, empowered, and digitally connected India.
