PANAJI: During the Ganesh Chaturthi festival period, police patrols will be increased at night to prevent theft and maintain law and order. Superintendent of Police Akshat Kaushal informed that orders have been given to Inspector of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police to increase patrolling.
Director General of Police Alok Kumar, Superintendent of Police Akshat Kaushal, Chief Minister Met CM Pramod Sawant. Information was received from the sources that security and law and order in Chaturthi were discussed.
“Crowds increase during Chaturthi in the state. Many attend public Ganeshotsav cultural events in the evening. This may lead to theft. The police have taken precautionary measures to control the thieves. Patrolling will be increased with the help of reserve police,” said SP kaushal
He furtherhas appealed to the Public Ganeshotsav Mandal to inform the police if any suspicious case is found. Kaushal informed that special arrangement of police will be made for traffic control.

SP also said that Citizens should inform the nearest police station if they see any suspicious person or suspicious incident.

Kausal said that the police are trying to keep the atmosphere of the state peaceful during Chaturthi.
