Panaji: The Goa Police Department has issued transfer orders for 34 Police Inspectors across the state, implementing one of its largest reshuffles in recent months. The changes take immediate effect and cover postings across district police stations, traffic cells, coastal security units, intelligence wings and specialised divisions.
According to the order, PI Pravin Gawas has been moved from the Traffic Education Cell in Panaji to Canacona Police Station, while PI Harsh Raut Dessai shifts from Canacona to the Traffic Cell at Colva. PI Vijay Rane Sardesai leaves the Crime Branch in Ribandar for Bicholim Police Station.
Several officers have been realigned between coastal and specialised units. PI Shitakant Nayak goes from the Traffic Cell Panaji to Siolim Coastal Security Police Station. PI Sandeep Kesarikar moves from Siolim Coastal Security to the Anti-Corruption Branch and Vigilance, while PI Shailesh Narvekar shifts from ACB/Vigilance to the Special Branch Centre in Vasco.
In other key movements, PI Devendra Pingle has been transferred from SB Centre Vasco to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office in Panaji. PI Sachin Lokre replaces him at the Crime Branch Ribandar after being moved out of Pernem Police Station. PI Nitin Halanakar will take charge of Pernem after transferring out of the Crime Branch.
The reshuffle also affects airport and railway policing. PI John Fernandes switches from the Security Unit Panaji to Dabolim Airport Police Station, while PI Arjun Bakre returns to the Security Unit after serving at Dabolim Airport. PI Ninad Deulkar takes charge of Mopa Airport Police Station, while PI Narayan Chimulkar moves to the Anti-Terrorist Squad.
In Mapusa and the northern belt, PI Navin Desai moves from SB Centre Bicholim to Mapusa Police Station. PI Nikhil Palekar leaves Mapusa for the Escort Cell, and PI Harish Gawas goes to SB Centre Mapusa. PI Sujay Korgaonkar moves to SB Centre Bicholim.
The Anti-Narcotics Cell and Women’s Police Station have also seen changes. PI Sagun Sawant shifts from Special Branch Panaji to ANC, while PI Sajith Pillai moves out of ANC to the Panaji Coastal Security Police Station. PI Mira D’Silva joins the Women’s Police Station, while PI Reema Naik moves to the Pink Force.
In South Goa, PI Prashal Naik Desai heads to Quepem Police Station, replacing PI Arjun Sangodkar, who moves to the Crime Branch Ribandar. PI Krishna Sinari shifts from Traffic Cell Ponda to Traffic Cell Pernem, while PI Gaurish Parab takes over at Traffic Cell Ponda.
The department said the reshuffle is part of a routine administrative exercise aimed at streamlining functioning across units and strengthening field-level policing.
