MAPUSA: SDPO Mapusa, Jivba Dalvi, popularly known as Singham, informed that the 5th accused person, Salimalim s/o Kasim Khan, age 41 yrs, r/o Khorlim Mapusa was arrested in a knife attack case.
SDPO Mapusa, while travelling from Porvorim to his office at Mapusa after attending the meeting, found the above accused on a motorbike travelling on Mapusa Highway.
SDPO Jivba Dalvi personally detained the accused and handed him over to Anjuna Police Station.
Earlier, Anjuna Police had arrested accused persons No. 1) Royston Reginaldo Dias alias Roshan,r/o Demello waddo, Anjuna, 2) Nyron Reginaldo Dias, r/o Demello waddo, Anjuna, 3) Kashinath Vishvor Agarqadekae, r/o Sorranto vaddo Anjuna, and 4) Joseph Alex Lobo, age 57 yrs r/o Sovranto wado Anjuna in the said assault case. All these accused are still in police custody.
SDPO Mapusa further informed that since the involvement of the fifth accused has come to light, sections 143, 147, 148 r/w 149 IPC have been adduced to the said crime and section 307 IPC has already been added by Anjuna Police Station earlier.
