PANAJI: Goa has reinforced its commitment to future ready governance and emerging technologies with a strong presence at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The global gathering, hosted by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology at Bharat Mandapam from February 16 to 20, is the first major artificial intelligence summit of its scale to be held in the Global South.
Aligned with the broader vision of People, Planet and Progress, the summit has brought together political leaders, industry experts, innovators and startups from across the world to shape a responsible and inclusive AI ecosystem. The participation of the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications of the Government of Goa highlights the state’s ambition to become a recognised AI driven innovation hub.
During a knowledge sharing workshop on AI adoption, representatives from the department outlined Goa’s initiatives and reaffirmed the state’s focus on ethical, scalable and citizen centric AI solutions. Under the Goa AI Mission 2027, the state has rolled out programmes such as workshops on AI for governance and social impact, an AI hackathon and a chatbot integrated into the Goa Online Portal. These initiatives aim to improve service delivery, enhance transparency and create new opportunities for startups.
A major attraction at the summit is the AI Impact Expo, spanning more than 70,000 square metres with over 840 exhibitors across multiple arenas. The expo was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the opening day.
With support from the state department, five Goan startups are showcasing their innovations at the expo, demonstrating AI applications across sectors and reflecting the diversity of the local technology ecosystem.
The concluding days of the summit will feature plenary sessions and discussions focused on leveraging AI for inclusive growth and sustainable development. Goa has invited delegates and investors to visit its pavilion to explore how the state’s innovators are harnessing artificial intelligence to deliver meaningful impact.
